Alessandro Del Piero – 14 goals in 24 games showed that age isn’t a problem if you still have the class. Although 38 years old he could still teach some young guns a thing or two about scoring goals, I expect another season of goals for a side which started to click towards the tail end of last season.
Sergio Cirio Olivares – Adelaide United’s new Spanish signing has spent most of his career in the lower leagues in Spain. Last season he finally started to deliver goals with 22 goals in 45 appearances for L’Hospitalet. I think this guy will surprise a few defences if he settles quickly.
Shane Smeltz – Perth Glory’s New Zealand striker had a relatively poor season last time out with only 7 goal in 19 appearances but history has shown that this guy knows the way to goal. I can see a return to form in the coming season and a few more goals going in.
