Iago Aspas - Liverpool FC signed the Spaniard from Celta Vigo. Aspas scored 12 goals in 34 games last season for a struggling Celta Vigo side that created very few chances. With Coutinho, Gerrard and co playing defence splitting passes and with the future of Suarez up in the air he will get goals.
Andreas Cornelius - Cardiff FC broke their transfer record to sign the young Danish striker from Copenhagen. Although he looks set to miss the start of the season he is certainly built to succeed in English football. The tall and aggressive striker could have a similar impact to Christian Benteke and provide the goals needed to see Cardiff’s Premier League survival.
Ricky Van Wolfswinkel – Norwich FC snapped up the Dutch striker from Sporting Lisbon. He has long been linked with a move to England having shown consistent goal scoring form in Portugal. Last season “The Wolf” managed to score 14 Goals in 30 games, Norwich will be happy if he can continue that form this season.
Pick of the second seasoners
Christian Benteke – Aston Villa’s saviour will continue where he left off last season, there is no doubt that without his goals Villa fans would have been planning their weekend in Bournemouth. 19 goals in 34 games last season in a struggling team can be bettered if Villa’s new signings continue their pre-season promise.
Ricky Lambert – Southampton (and England!) striker Lambert scored an impressive 15 goals in his first premier league season and I can see him adding to that tally this season, although Premier League defenders will now know a little more about him he has that instinct to always find space and the ball.
Romelu Lukaku – Last season Lukaku showed he was more than ready for Premier League football, scoring 17 goals in 35 games for an over achieving WBA team has shown Chelsea’s they don’t need to spend to replace an out of sorts looking Torres. With the creativity that Chelsea has in their team I can see Lukaku matching last season’s goal tally providing he gets game time.
Pick of the rest
Robin Van Persie – Settled into life at Old Trafford with little fuss, he has made Rooney play second fiddle leaving his future up in the air. V.Persie has already notched up a couple of goals in the Community Shield which suggests his first season was no fluke. I am still not convinced that his injury troubles are behind him but if he stays fit he will score goals.
