It’s getting Holt in here!

Villa have made their first move in the January Transfer Window by bringing in Grant Holt on loan until the end of the season.  No doubt this will cause fury amongst the dissenting Villa faithful, I can hear it now “Why is a club like Villa borrowing players from a Championship club etc”.  I think it could prove to be shrewd move.

I have always hated Grant Holt and the main reason for this is that he is a pain in the @rse.  He makes a nuisance of himself and terrorises defenders (not always according to the rules).  He also has two qualities that Villa are crying out for – experience and leadership.  Even if he doesn’t kick a ball he could prove to be an asset in the dressing room.  While not a prolific goalscorer he could chip in with a few goals which could prove the difference between a comfortable finish and a last day scrap.

Let’s get behind him and hope there are few more experienced players arriving at Bodymoor heath in the coming weeks.
